Sleep deprivation is back – feel like hibernating til spring

30 10 2008

So since the closcks went back I haven’ had more than 6 hours straight on account of Teds new wake up time being betweeen 430 and 445am (ouch). It looked like it was creeping back towards 530 which was bearable, but last night back to 430. And I went to bed mega early to catch up but for some wierd reason he woke at 11 and was awake crying for half an hour on and off … he hasn’t done that for months – pink cheeks today though so maybe its the teeth again. Big sigh

So I am going to bed tonight before 10 and am hoping that he will at least go til 5am – that would be 7 hours in a row… bliss

Work is bedlam, Ry is out alot this week with functions at work, Ted is doing great but gaining an independent streak thats growing daily. Also going through phase of grabbing his bits everytime we take a nappy off – which is fine unless its dirty in which case we get mess everywhere ….

Ry is away for a couple of nights early next week so I am booked for 4 hours to myself on the weekend before he goes – even if I end up walking the streets by myself.

Got to go as things to do before bed but quickly updatig my regulars.

Bringing the pics uptodate

26 10 2008

So to close off my catch up here are a couple of pics of Teddy at Spur when we went for lunch on G&G P’s last day and then some from today where he woke up with the most crazy hair we have ever seen. The week inbetween has been busy with lots of catching up to do at work, and Uncle Barney came for dinner Tesday which was alot of fun and good to have a really good catch up sans kids. Another busy week coming up but at least this weekend has been pretty low key – Ry has had to work most of today which was a shame but Ted and I had  some good one on one time to catch up on some serious playing.

Making music with daddy

26 10 2008

On Sunday morning before we all got started (painfully early for a Sunday) Ry and Ted made some music together

Dinner at Oatlands Chaser

26 10 2008

In the evening after our day out at Brooklands and Mercedes Benz world we all went for dinner at the Oatlands Chaser which was great, its pretty child friendly as theres space to spread out on bench seats and the food was fantastic.

Saturday – Brooklands and Mercedes Benz World

24 10 2008

Well its been a week and our Saturday this week will be much quieter but last Saturday we all had a blast. Up and at ‘em to take Teddy swimming, G&G P and Daddy came for the first time to watch which was exciting for Teddy. After swimming we all went for a fry up and tea in the caff. Headed off to Brooklands after breakfast and Teddy must have been excited as he skipped his nap in the car. We arrived and went straight into the formula one display which has some awesome cars, and now they have the maclaren hooked up to a race track so you can sit in and race – its super cool. granpa P was the fastest – but he only beat me by a couple of hundredths, later cliffy beat us all….. was lots of fun and Ted got to go in the car with Mummy and Daddy (pics to follow of course). We had a wander through the older car garage and then stopped for a cuppa before heading into the aircraft hanger to look at the gliders and harriers. Ted got to sit in the harrier which he loved and went inside some of the other planes too. G&G and Ry went to go on the concorde experience so I took Teddy for a stroll in the buggy and he dozed of. He slept for about 45 mins and as we wandered we saw Cliff and Antia and Nathan had arrived to meet us in the tea room. Ted and I went and joined them until the concorde experience was over then we all took a wander up to the airfield to look at all the planes. Back to the F1 shed for Cliff to have his turn and then it was off to Benz World

Went to MB world to look at the beautiful cars and for me to dream a little more about the R class which is a lovely lovely car, need another child to justify it but I am sure that is a possibility at some point. Antia, Des and I had coffee with the littluns and Ron, Ry and Cliff went for a stroll, we all met up later and Ted especially enjoyed the big running spaces, shiny new cars and a couch he found to clamber on.

Finally up to G&G P visit

23 10 2008

After the Ruby sunday it was a busy week at work, Ted was off nurseru sick on Monday and Tuesday so I was home by midday Monday and Granny W was here on Tuesday as fortunately I had arranged for her to pick up and drop off Ted as I had to go to Leeds for emergency incident report at work. Ted was back at nursery on Wednesday and was fine thank goodness so I managed to get some work caught up before workig a short day Thursday leaving at 3 to collect G&G P from Hatton Cross tube. We drove to nursery to collect Ted who was completely freaked out a) that Mummy was there at 4pm and b) that there were these two other people that he met the weekend before there too. He ignored G&G P in the car and made a point of looking out the window but warmed up quickly when we got home and was starting to relax more and get used to these two new people. Ry got home and we all caught up a little before putting Ted to bed and ordering a curry in – which was a lovely treat.

Friday morning we were up earlyish and decided to got to Windsor Castle as it was a lovely day and we have never been there before. We drove across to Windsor and parked up before walking up to the castle. It was lovely to walk around outside in the sunshine and listen to the audia guide, once inside we were good for about half an hour but then keeping Ted the right side of the cordons and away from the very old and expensive china and glass ornaments and heavy and dangerous suits of armour and weapons became too much for me and too much fo him so we left Ryan and Granpa to finish the tour and met them on ext.

We went to a pub for lunch nearby, pies all round which were great although the wait was phenomenally long! Then back to the car via an ice cream shop where we all indulged in some great big double scoop cones which were delish.

Back home and in the evening we did Caeser salads all round which was nice after such a heavy lunch, Ted was used to G&GP now and started to show his tricks, — swinging on the stair gate, running up and down the lounge and doing row row the boat. We all had a lovely day.

Still to come – Brooklands, MercedesBenz World and dinner with Cliff and Antia, followed by family lunch on Sunday with the Gubbins and then Mondays shopping and lunch at Spur … but all that will have to wait for the next installment of the G&G P visit tomorrow or on the weekend when I have time to do the detail justice and to organise the pics.

G&GP departed Monday which was very sad and its always very hard to say goodbye, but we had a lovely time and it was so good for Ted to get to spend quality time with his G&GP.

Post lunch park play

23 10 2008

After the Ruby lunch Granny W took Roobs and poor Uncle Dan with his broken leg home where they all settled down for naps, while the rest of us took the kids for poo sticks and then to play in the park. It was lovely weather and all the kids had a blast …..

Ruby Wedding Lunch

20 10 2008

Congrats to Ma and Pa who made it to 40 years of marriage. Fingers crossed Ry and I can do so well..

We had a wonderful lunch at the Charterhouse Arms – great roast, great company and seeing all the kids together was wonderful. We all enjoyed a good catch up and followed lunch with an outing to the park. I have sorted the pics of the lunch but unfortunately theres another 50 or so from the park – they were all having so much fun! So they will have to wait for another day.

Meanwhile heres the lunch pics …

267 new pictures ….. thats going to take some time

19 10 2008

Its been 9 days, 9 very busy days. Ted has been off nursery with a fever for the early part of last week, work has been crazy busy including a 16 hour working day with a roundtrip to Leeds. Granny and Granpa W’s ruby wedding anniversary (congratulations olds xxxx) and Granny and Granpa P coming to stay. Will take a few posts to work through the backlog and have crazy busy week this week too, but hopefully will be uptodate by next weekend. Apart from anything else will take a couple of nights to review, sort, edit and resize the pictures to be blog worthy.

That being said I can at lest get the pics up from last Saturday when we headed over to see Auntie Zana and Uncle Patrick and cuzzie and of course G&G P who were staying there for the first week of their visit. Ted got to go crazy in Guys playroom once again – he especially enjoyed the rocking horse which he rode vigorously! and it was a chance to get familiar with G&G P who of course he hasn’t seen since last year. We stopped for lunch which was lovely, great to be able to all sit down together, and then Z & P went out for a night out and we stayed and hd a good catch up until Teds bedtime when we bundled him into some of his many new clothes that Granny P had arrived with as makeshift jamas and took him home to bed. Fortuantely remembered the England game at Wembley and took the M25 home. One of the highlights of the the day had to be the bubble frenzy which both the boys loved. Heres the pics.

Granny and Grandpa P arrive and Daddys home alone with Ted

10 10 2008

Granny and Grandpa P arrived on Tuesday and it was lovely to see them albeit briefly at the airport before they went to Zanas and we all went to work and nursery! Ted wasn’t quite sure who G&G P were but by the time an hour had gone by he had identified them as friend and I am sure that after some time tomorrow and next week they will be flavour of the month and Mummy and Daddy will be old news!

The week has been very busy with work and I was away overnight from Wednesday morning to Thursday evening so Daddy had to drop off, go to work, pick up do tea, play, bath and bed, then morning milk, dressed and out of the house to nursery and then off to work again in the morning solo. The kitchen looked like a bomb had gone off when I got back but other than that all was in order and Teddy was happy as larry – so maybe I can go away more often to have a night off! Actually I have to go to Leeds next week overnight but granny W is covering nursery runs as we are both taking time off next week to enjoy a few days with G&GP so Daddy can’t work short days on the days he is working next week. Especially since its 4 year plan time and hes two weeks into the new job!

Have bust weekend planned, swimming lesson tomorrow then up to Arnos Grove to see G&G P and Zana Patrick and Guy. The Sunday at G&G L for their Ruby wedding anniversary with all the cousins – so there will be seven of them….. merry mayhem. Not exactly a relaxing weekend but it will be great to spend so much time with family.

Early night for me tonight as its been a tiring week
